After our last trip of the year to the Mobile Monetization Summit it’s getting a bit less stressful and we are looking forward to taking the chance to recharge our batteries throughout the holiday season. We also thought that this would be a good time to look back on Spyke Media in 2015. It’s been a year full of great business and wonderful events (okay, it’s been a lot, and below we can’t feature all of them, so here’s the full list: Affiliate Summit West, Casual Connect Europe, Online Marketing Rockstars, Mobile World Congress, Apps World Germany, Eurowebtainment, Mobile Summit, Postback Conference , Affiliate Summit East, Gamescom, App Promotion Summit London, dmexco, Webmaster Access , Casual Connect Tel Aviv, Apps World London, Apps World Cape Town, Mobile Monetization Summit).

We started the year off by attending the Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas. We had such a great time in Sin City that we’ll be going back there in a few weeks. During our stint in Nevada we had the chance to meet some of our best partners from all over the world and especially – who would’ve thought? – from the United States. Yes, we also had to make our first casino experience. Well, let’s say the Spyke Media business went better than our personal gambling business.

One of the key events every year is the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This is where everyone from the industry flocks to. We were of course there and had a great time, both in terms of business and in terms of fun. Guess what: We’re sure to return next year, and you’d better stay tuned to see what great news we have to announce with regards to MWC 2016.

First standalone booth for Spyke.

In the spring of 2015 we went on to visit some more events. At the Apps World in Berlin we had our first standalone booth at a fair. To go with our appearance in Germany’s capital we also shared an opinion piece, arguing that CPA with added action criteria is much more effective than just an install-based campaign. We suggest you re-read it if you would like to think about app marketing strategies.

When we were heading towards summer here in Germany, the weather wasn’t that good and we were really happy to fly over to Seattle attending the Postback conference of our partners from TUNE. A few days later we went on to be at the Affiliate Summit East in New York serving our booth visitors delicious German Haribo and talking about our new developments that had taken place in Germany.

At around that time our team grew and we welcomed several new team members. We also had some nice barbecues on our rooftop terrace, like we did a day before dmexco.

We also did an interesting case study with Germany’s overseas broadcasting network Deutsche Welle (https://www.spykemedia.com/deutsche_welle_case_study/) and shared a summary of our growth right in time of our hometown event dmexco (https://www.spykemedia.com/app-focus-propels-growth-of-spyke-media/).

We capped off the summer with a great piece on the discussion of our industry which still seems to be endless. It was headlined by a quote from one of the most influential playwrights of all times, William Shakespeare. Yes, okay, we edited his quote a bit, but we still liked our sophisticated take on it. (https://www.spykemedia.com/to-incentivize-or-not-to-incentivize-that-is-the-question/).

In November we started to begin the final sprint with our carnival party and visits to Cape Town, London and, finally, in December to Tel Aviv. By the way, when we were in South Africa, we founded our new subsidiary, Spyke Media Pty. Ltd. In our blog we also had an article about messaging apps and their huge marketing potential. You can re-read it here: https://www.spykemedia.com/success-is-in-the-message/.

Now that we’ve recapitulated this year, we wanted to take the chance to wish all of our customers, partners and friends a happy New Year. We’ll see each other in 2016!
