Day two of MWC16 is almost over (we’ll, let’s make sure to post this piece before the partying starts, because tomorrow morning a lot of the memories may be erased). Here’s a few pictures of people that we met.

It’s fair to say that it’s exhausting work out here, yet very rewarding. Anyone who thinks a trade fair is just standing around and talking? You’re way off. We just looked at the activity tracked on our smartphone: 14,861 steps. Yet the thinking part here is even more of a great exercise: How can we help an app developer from Spain with a health offer that needs to be targeted to female 19-39-year-olds in 5 smaller European markets? We know the answer, of course, but to find out, you should meet us tomorrow or Thursday. We work and think hard for your performance.

Now here’s a quick look at 3 noteworthy things we saw at MWC today.

Toothbrushes

You may think it’s unlikely, but we’re just a few meters away from a booth hosted by Oral B. They showcase a fully connected toothbrush with an app that tells you where to brush and how much pressure to apply. If you push too hard, you get a warning. There’s even a high-score table for the most efficient brushers. Mobile internet in everyday dental care, that’s news for us.

SMS

Though you may not think it’s still worth a booth at a sprawling next generation tech show, SMS is still very much a part of MWC. Look at the likes of mblox, CM and infobip – they have very impressive stands here. We’re actually co-hosting our booth with GTX Messaging, who are specialists in reliable SMS that is very attractive in app installation flows. Check them out.

Estrella at 5

Barcelona has one of the best beers available outside our hometown, Cologne. As a tribute, we serve Estrella Damm every day at 5 pm at our booth. Promised. Just come see us!
